An Evaluation Day is a full day of daycare to assess behavior:
Here at BBB Downtown our priority is safety and comfort of ALL dogs. An evaluation day gives us and your dog time to get acquainted along with taking note of body language, playtime skills and behaviors. Our facility gives dogs the opportunity to socialize, play, and wander which leads to happy pups and parents. Most dogs pass our evaluation but there are some canine companions that would do best at a facility with less dogs and interactions or a home environment.
Our two designated play areas are “Zoomies Zone” and “Lounge”. This creates play groups by energy level but we also take size into consideration. We would not bring a 5lb. yorkie into the Zoomie Zone. Keep in mind our facility is open concept and shared space of all sizes. We cannot guarantee smalls/bigs won’t come into contact so we will not accept any medium to Large dogs that are a danger to smalls. Vice versa, for their safety, we will not accept small dogs that are reactive to big dogs.
You can count on us to be upfront and communicate about your dog’s experience. Texting during open business hours to check in is very welcome! We will be completely honest if your dog and our facility is not a good match and give recommendations we see fit. All of staff is here because they love what they do. As the owner, I want our facility to remain a joyful, relaxing, and safe space for employees and dogs.

What is a doggie sleepover?
Our boarding at Black Bayou Boarding downtown is true cage and kennel free dog boarding. This means your dog is monitored and supervised 24/7 by a staff member. Dogs will spend their day participating in open play in their designated areas or resting in the bedroom.
Can my dogs stay together in the same room?
All dogs sleep in one shared space, the bedroom, at bedtime.
Is there a late pick up fee for doggie sleepover?
There is a half day fee of $35 per dog if pickup is after 11am. If receiving services from our groomers, there is no half day fee. Dogs will be shuttled to Black Bayou Boarding South the morning of pickup and should return to Black Bayou Boarding downtown by 4pm for pickup by owner.
Is the evaluation day required before daycare / doggie sleepover / dog park?
The assessment day is required for all, but sometimes may be skipped for puppies.
What is the evaluation day?
The evaluation day is a daycare day to assess temperament and behavior to decide if we are the best and safe match for each other. We assess behavior in playgroup, quiet time in the bedroom, feeding, and general interaction from humans.
Do you supply food?
At this time, we do not supply dog food to avoid upset bellies that can happen when changing dog food. Please go to the “What do I pack for boarding?” section for more information.
Do you offer bus shuttle service?
We do not offer bus service to and from Black Bayou Boarding Downtown.
We do offer shuttle service from Black Bayou Boarding Downtown to Black Bayou Boarding South for grooming and boarding only. Your first dog is $10 and each additional is $7. You would book through Black Bayou Boarding South client portal.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash and check preferred and are fee free. All major credit cards are also accepted with a processing fee. We will not accept venmo, paypal, or zelle.
What is your cancellation for daycare?
Must cancel before close the day before to avoid daycare fee. If canceled the day of, there is a daycare fee.
What is your cancellation policy for boarding?
If you need to cancel boarding, you must do so at least 3 days before the reservation to avoid charges. If you do not give a 3 day notice, you will be charged 50% of the reservation.
(For example- scheduled check-in is Jan.4. Must cancel by 6:30pm on Jan.1)
Can I checkout early?
If pickup is earlier than reserved and was not discussed or not changed at drop off, you will be charged 100% of the remaining reservation due to the limited space we have.
When do I pay?
100% of invoice is due at checkout. we do accept payment at drop off, but payment at pick up is always easier.
Do you offer senior dog services?
We do, but they are at higher risk for injuries and illness.
Can I send meds with my dog?
If dogs take meds, they must be willing and not a bite risk.
Can I have a tour?
Yes. Contact us to schedule.
Parking
Park in gravel parking behind building. Entrance is glass door on east side of building.
What are your drop off and pick up hours?
Our hours are:
Monday- Friday 6:30am – 6:30pm
Saturday & Sunday 6:30am – 11am
NO PICKUPS OR DROP OFFS ON HOLIDAYS
What are the requirements?
1. Potty trained if 6 months or older.
2. Spay & Neuter:
• Daycare | Doggie Sleepover / Boarding | Dog Park — must be spayed or neutered after nine months or females first heat.
(If mature animal behavior such as humping or marking is observed before nine months, we will suspend until spayed or neutered.)
• Grooming — not required to be spayed or neutered but will need to be dropped off at Black Bayou Boarding South if over 9 months.
3. Collar & Name Tag: Every dog must wear a collar & tag every visit. Must be a plastic quick release collar. No metal buckles.
**Digital trackers, tiles, or air tags are not allowed on collars due to safety for dogs in play area.
4. FLEA PREVENTION: If fleas are noticed during their stay, they will be required to leave immediately. *To start treating fleas, a Capstar 24hr flea pill will be given for $20.
5. Annual Shots required:
• Rabies
• Distemper
• Parvo
• Bordetella
•
FECAL TEST SHOWING NEGATIVE RESULTS
6. Create online profile in client portal and sign ALL agreements and liability release online. Step by step instructions below.
What do I pack for daycare?
1. Do not send personal items, food, treats, or toys.
2. Collar and name tag always required.
What do I pack for boarding?
1. DO NOT BRING: beds, blankets, toys, bowls, chews, bones, an excessive amount of treats, food in ziploc bags or personal items in bags. No storage space for extras.
2. Food:
A. Must be in locking plastic/metal storage container.
B. Pack your measuring scoop used.
C. Write First & Last Name & instructions on top and side of container.
3. Medicine
A. Bring in Ziploc with written instructions OR pill organizer is preferred.
B. Must fit in food container
C. Send pill wraps if needed
4. Treats
A. Bring in Sandwich ziploc.
B. Must fit in food container.
**We always recommend at least a bath before going home to wash away the germs from others and dog smell.**
How do I get my pup started?
1. Create Profile
A. click link or download app to create online account and complete client and dog profile
B. Phone app for clients is “Gingr for pet parents.” Invite code is 383447.

2. Shot Records & Fecal Test
A. Go to account > Upload records > Tap “Drop your files here” > Select Image OR Document > select media
B. Upload Only once. It won’t show you uploaded file but it is there. It will say missing info in red color until we verify and manually enter expiration dates.
C. You can also text records to us
3. Sign Policies
A. In client portal: Go to account > Waivers & Agreements > READ & SIGN both online agreements. (must be read and signed before creating bookings or check-ins.)
4. Text us
A. to speed process up, text that you’ve created an account and completed all steps.

5. Finally
A. We will text back letting you know if you’re missing any steps or if you can request First Daycare Day in client portal to assess temperament and behavior before an overnight stay.
